Sussex Cattle
We are proud to be pedigree breeders and producers, as longstanding members of the Sussex Cattle Society.
Our 1947-established Goldstone Herd of purebred Polled Sussex Cattle is at the heart of our operations. We offer bull semen for dairy herds, as well as bulls and females from this renowned herd. Visitors are always welcome by appointment.
Breeding Policy
Our journey as pedigree breeders began in 1942 with the registration of our first Sussex Cattle. Today, our herd consists of approximately 90 breeding cows.
In the late 1950s, a group of forward-thinking breeders, including us, initiated a polling* scheme. While the idea didn't gain national momentum, we persevered, and now we proudly host one of the largest herds of polled Sussex.
In the early 1960s, we joined the MLC Beef Improvement Scheme (now Signet), enabling us to measure growth rates, eye muscle, and back fat, and to determine the potential breeding value of each animal.
We are also members of the SAC Health Scheme:
