Our History

Traditional family farming for over 200 years.
1809

Our journey began with Peter Chandler's purchase of 26 acres at Goldstone. Over the generations, his family nurtured and expanded the farm, laying the foundation for what we are today.

1922

Mr. G. S. Dunn joined Mr. A. S. Chandler as a partner in the farm, driving its continued growth and expansion.

1939

The farm's expansion took a significant step forward with the first purchase of cattle, marking the beginning of its livestock operations.

1942

The farm took a pivotal step by registering with the Sussex Cattle Society, marking the establishment of a Pedigree Sussex Herd at Goldstone. Today, all our cattle trace their lineage back to this original herd.

1952

Chandler and Dunn Ltd was established as a family company, by the next generation: Robert, Philip, and David Chandler, alongside John Dunn.

2007

Recognized as Fruit Grower and Edible Crop Grower of the Year, highlighting our dedication to excellence in sustainable farming and quality produce.

2014

Finalist in the Marks & Spencer Farming of the Future Awards, showcasing our innovative practices and commitment to sustainable farming.
